CRAZINESS UPDATE...LONGEST POST EVER!

More & more I seem to be doing more updating than posting. My definition...posting=posting about a single event qiuckly after it happens! Updates=what I end up resorting to, posting about every three weeks or so to catch up on our goings-on! SORRY! Okay so in my absence from computer life in general (really it was quite nice!) we accomplished a number of things. My closest cousin and dear friend, Jennifer married her sweetheart Robby on October 18th. She had asked me to be a bridesmaid, so we were lucky enough to spend a handful of days in beautiful Garden Grove, California, participating in all of the events! It was a beautiful wedding & boy what a LOT of work!!!
Here she is while we were all getting ready...I don't even have one of her in her dress (what a BUMMER!) It was kind of a whirlwind kind of day!

The morning of the wedding I left before Blaze woke up, so by the time he could actually get close enough to touch me it had been 12 hours since I left. That was the longest he had ever been away from me, and considering he seems to be going through that 18 monthish clingy thing (just like Bennett did) he was really excited to see me! Sadly, Bennett was being shy or something...I don't have any picture of him! We did dance a few times though!

My wonderful Uncle Marty & Aunt Grace celebrate their 50th anniversary this year, so as a surprise Jenn had their wedding song played for them to dance to. It was fantastic! LOVE THEM!

Had to sneak in a few precious moments with MY sweetheart! I have the greatest husband!

Blaze enjoying some one-on-one with Papa...they were being so cute with each other. Really Blaze just loves to pull Papa's mustache, and he IS the only one who lets blaze try & jab his fingers into his eyes!

This is obviously the retrieval of the garter...

and this is Louis, Justine's (my sister) boyfriend! Look at what is around his neck! LOVE IT!

We couldn't get Blaze off the dance floor. Really, he cried when we finally left, much after bed time! He just went NUTS! He was running circles around anyone and everyone on the dance floor, bumping into at least half of them in the process! It was a riot!

We took the boys to the beach for the very first time. I think they had more fun throwing seaweed and sand then they did in the water. Granted it is cold, but they were pretty unsure about the waves at high tide, a bit daunting. However, they had fun playing and running around as to be expected!

Discovering seaweed (notice the seaweed midair!) We did manage to sqeeze in a few family pics while there so that I can replace the pictures on my wall... they are only 3 years old!

I have yet to do anything with them, but here are a few. I have darn cute kids! After all the festivities we came home to go back to real life, and to get ready for the little Halloween party my neighbor, Angie, and I threw. We had a great turn out & it was really a blast!

I had prepared bobbing for apples, however the little ones (okay, mostly Blaze!) discovered them first. He was taking bites out of them & then THROWING them, as hard as he could, back in the water. By the time the party was over, he was soaking wet! On to Halloween! We went to the Pumpkin patch to take our annual pictures with the piles of pumpkins!

I couldn't convince Bennett he wanted to be anything but a cowboy...again! Hey, at least we already had all the stuff! Blaze was a little motorcycle dude, I was some sort of a quick, thrown together, pirate maiden thing, and Adam took the cake as the security guard!

We went to our ward trunk or treat & then hurried off to the Cowley's party. The Dads took the kids trick or treating together. Then they came back and Melissa (one of the other moms) had put together bobbing for apples (oh no...not again!) and the no-handed, eating a donut from a string game. Bennett finally figured to push the donut up against the other kids for stability...it worked! They had fun and it was hilarious to watch!

HALLOWEEN PARTY!

My neighbor and I are throwing a Halloween party for the kids...and if you are reading this you are welcome to come!!!!! I ran out of time to get all the invitations out, sorry! It is going to be on Wednesday, October 22nd in the morning. If you are interested, either leave a comment with your email address or email me at snugabugslings at gmail.com and I will send you all the details! Hope to see you there!

MY LITTLE FIRE MEN!

Our ward planned a little trip to the fire house this past Saturday. I didn't even tell Bennett that we were going until the morning of...and really I should have waited until we were on the way. He asked about it every 5 minutes! They got a tour of the fire houst & then they got to play on the truck which was quite a lot of fun for my two little monkeys! Blaze has also figured out how to smile on command. Before this he did a really funny eyes-rolled with a scowl face...the smile is much cuter, though maybe less humorous!

SEPTEMBER HAPPENINGS...

Just wanted to pass on my love of a new product... I found a new shower cleaner at Target for $2.14 and since I have had luck with arm & hammer products I have bought in the past I wanted to try this stuff out! I was kind of worn out from my normal comet and scrub brush routine, which take a LOT of elbow grease, so when it promised itself as scrub free...and proved it, I was thrilled! I don't think my shower and bath have been that clean since the day they were brand new!
We went to our first tail gate before one of the UNLV football games. We BBQ'd with some friends and obviously enjoyed a few brews! Blaze stole my root beer & I couldn't help but laugh, because he appeared to fit right in with the rest of the crowd!
Blaze has also discovered a love of books. It warms my heart everytime (which is quite a few through out the day) he brings me a books and chants, "read, read!" He also can be found in the reading chair telling himself stories...now tell me that isn't CUTE!
Adam and I celebrated our anniversary at the end of the month. FIVE YEARS...HOORAY! We went to the movies and had a fantastic, leisurely dinner at Brio (one of my faves). I am just able to count my blessing for the wonderful man that I married. He is a great dad & husband...not to mention the past few years of toture called dental school. He works so hard so that he can do his best in the field that will support our family in the coming years! I consider my self pretty lucky!

I PROMISE...

I am going to post this week! I didn't feel like downloading all my pictures right now, but I wanted to get my blog in the holiday spirit! I don't know much about the blog html & I cannot figure out how to get rid of the dumb border around my header!!! FRUSTRATING! Not to mention the middle piece of the blog (white right now) these elements were part of an old background & I don't want to totally mess the whole thing up! So for now they stay! Hope all is well with all of you out there in blogging land! OH... By the way, we are going to be in So. Cal. next week & I really want to take some cute family pics. If there is anyone out there (i know crazy request!) that has a digital SLR laying about, could we possibly talk you into letting us steal it for the weekend?!? Our camera does not take pics that allow me to print anything bigger then 8x10, and the family picture on my wall are from when Bennett was like 5 months old! Sad...poor Blaze! I apologize for the randomness!

FUN AT THE IRON COUNTY FAIR!

We visited some family in southern Utah for Labor Day Weekend. This is also the time of the Iron County Fair, which is a blast. With everything from the carnival, petting zoo, rodeo, parade, and even a mechanical bull, there is always something to keep a family busy!
Blaze LOVED all the horses! and discovered a love for cows...even plastic ones at the ranch supply store!

We visited our wonderful lake with Michelle & Eddy Kundanani...and Dax too! The kids had a blast jumping off the boat...yes, NO FEAR! I even tried to wake board for the first time...not so successfully, but it was fun! Thanks a TON guys, we loved it!

25 HOURS LATER....

Okay, okay...so I am slightly obsessed! I borrowed the book from a friend on Sunday, telling myself that I would wait until at least Monday to start it (mainly because Adam was leaving town for the week & I wanted something to do!). However when we got home that afternoon, it was nap time & everyone slept...except me of course, I have no self control! I finished it early Monday afternoon. I loved it. I have heard mixed reviews, but I thought it was a good summary of the events of all 4 books. What did everyone else think...please give me your opinion!?! ...I just love getting caught up in a good story, even if it is a vampire romance!

NOT SO QUICK JULY CATCH UP

Okay so I am jut getting bad a staying current with MY blog! I have been captured in the READER world. If you don't know about Google Reader...discover it! It keeps track of all your blogs and shows you the updates of the blogs you want to see. However... After it gets to know your tastes (kind of creepy or weird, I know) it will start recommending other blogs to you that might be of interest. Needless to say...I have gotten hooked and my list keeps getting longer! One to REALLY check out is called Seriously, so blessed! It is a satire on Mormon culture... soooooo funny! Anyway on to OUR goings on... We went "camping" with some dental school buds. We didn't stay the night but we had fun that afternoon. Bennett used his sweet hatchet skills and fire starting skills, while Blaze rode the deer target and threw rocks EVERYWHERE! We went to a birthday party at Mini-Grand Prix. The kids had a ton of fun on ALL the motorized toys! Adam won some serious tickets! They were still coming out when we took the picture! He ended up with 600 just from the one game! The boys showing off their prizes! I made some baby blocks for a friend who had a baby. Unfortunately, I forgot to take a picture before I wrapped them up! Just imagine how much cuter they were without the cellophane! Two of my other accomplishments...I fixed my dress. It was a tad too short on the layer underneath the gray layer (the gray is very see through). I made a ruffle to sew on to the underside & I thought I did a pretty good job! Watch out world I know how to make a ruffle now...things could get BAD!!!! The other is a sling that was commisioned. It was a darling number, with red paisley on one side and an old fashioned style nursery rhyme print on the other. I have started a blog for my slings...Snugabug Slings. I will be posting soon, but check it out! Blaze learned a new skill...that is until yesterday when he actually pulled it down on himself! I couldn't help but to laugh a little! I warned him! On a slightly sad note...Moxie & Riley have found wonderful, new, loving homes. Adam & I had been talking about placing them in new homes but it made me sad and stessed out to find people that I trusted enough to take them. It kind of all came together in a whirlwind of a week. My sister had "claimed" Riley and was moving back to Vegas after living in San Diego for the summer (lucky , Iknow!). I also had a girlfriend that called & was looking for a little yorkie to join their family. I am so lucky to know that they both are well loved little pampered poochies! On the upside Titus has really come out of his shell now that he is a lone wolf! He is starting to get over his very skittish nature (we don't think he was well taken care of before we got him at 6 months of age)and he is evolving into a totally new dog. What a good thing! That is about it for our little fam! I promise to try harder to update much sooner!

4th of July Fun!!

We were so excited to join the larkins up at her parents house in a tiny little town in the middle of the state called Round Mountain. It is a mining town & the mine knows how to celebrate the 4th!The morning of the 4th was the fishing derby where the kids as young as 18 months get a chance to catch some fish. Nick & Adam both tried to help Bennett catch a fish, but they kept breaking our lines. They were crazy! However I was able to reel one in (for Bennett of couse)! It was my second fish the first of which was caught at the same place two years ago. In the afternoon the mine throws a HUGE BBQ celebration with midway games, bingo, panning for gold, and some other things. We finished off the night with a talent show with Angie's family. Angie & I learned a hula from a couple girls in our ward. I messed up,but we did have fun! The next day we went for a picnic & Blaze was more than happy when I stripped him down to play in the creek. We had a lot of fun & are anxious to go again!
In the bottom right picture, Adam gave Blaze a zicada...yes, those really annoying buzzing things that invade Vegas every summer. Blaze decided to crush it. GROSS!

Busy...kind of!

Sorry for the lack of posting these days! Adam has had midterms, so computer time has been scarce! To start...Cortney's birthday was a couple weeks ago and Christina made (with my help, of course...I picked out the beads all by myself!) a beautiful necklace. I made the bracelet & then a similar one for myself with the leftovers. It was really fun. One more hobby to catch my interest...as if I have time to do the things I already know how to do!

Bennett has been honing his photography skills. He took this one of Blaze that I thought was too cute!

We had a small get together last week, to say our farewells to the Dickersons’ as they are moving to AZ tomorrow. This is what Bennett’s room looked like at the end of the night. I do have to say that the kids had fun & let us visit pretty well.

One of Adam’s patients gave him 4 tickets to the Barry Manilow show. So we enjoyed the company of Bri & Derek Cunningham. Barry does put on a good show, however we knew about 3 of the total songsmainly because he did some cover songs. Despite such a difficulty we made it a party & had quite a bit of fun!

At the show they handed out glow sticks, so we brought a couple home for the kids to play with...they thought it was pretty cool! Look close!
